Company History

The Company
Le Creuset began producing its first porcelain enameled cast iron pots in 1925 from its foundry in Fresnoy le Grand, France. Today, Le Creuset continues to produce from this base. The company has maintained its use of hand-crafted techniques and forging and casting process.

To bring more variety to the consumer, in 1991 Le Creuset introduced the Enamel on Steel product line. After casting, multiple layers of incredibly strong, chip-resistant enamel are applied to each piece. The enamelling process gives Le Creuset its characteristic beauty and creates a tough, non-reactive surface that does not require future treating.
